Here's what's new at BCREB...

  • Critical Thinking & Decision Making for RN's and LPN's

    A course in Critical Thinking and Decision Making is being offered to Employed and Unemployed RNís and LPNís. This course is designed to review the concept of critical thinking and decision making as it relates to the nursing profession, focusing on the application of critical thinking in nursing process and nursing diaganosis. This course supports the use of nursing reasearch and evidence-based practice in the critical thinking process and ties critical thinking to the provisions of safe, patient-center care. The 8 hour course will be offered in 3 locations in the county. November 3, at McCann Techinical School, North Adam, November 10th, Fairview Hospital,Great Barrington, and November 19th, BMC education Department, Hillcrest Campus, Pittsfield. The course runs from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and participants will be awarded 6.5 contact hours at the completion of the course.

    The program is paid for through the State of Massachusetts Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund. Administration is provided by the Commonwealth Corporation and is managed locally by the BCREB.

  • Enhanced ESOL C.N.A. Course Application - Pittsfield begins September 2, 2014

    The Enhanced CNA course for ESOL students provides classes in work readiness, life skills, study skills and in CNA training leading to State Cerrification. Applications will be accepted until August 25, 2014. Late applications will be considered if space is available.

  • FY2015 Workforce Business Plan Development

    The Berkshire County Regional Employment Board, Inc. (BCREB), in partnership with our Chief Elected Official, Mayor Daniel Bianchi of Pittsfield, is required to prepare a Fiscal Year 2015 Workforce Development Business Plan for Berkshire County for submission to the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. This planning document articulates the regionís priorities and workforce development strategies and revisits the broad scope of how the Workforce Investment Act system will be coordinated with other systems providing employment and training services to improve services for both job seekers and employers.

    For FY15, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development is requiring that the plan include a narrative of services, performance and participant planning forms and the budget for how funds will be allocated. The comprehensive plan can be found after June 12, 2014 on the BCREB website www.bcreb.com.

    The Chief Elected Official and the BCREB are seeking public comment on the proposed plan. Interested parties may submit written comments regarding this document to the BCREB by June 12th, 2014 in order to be included with the plan. All questions or comments should be directed to Heather Boulger at Heather@berkshireREB.org.
